Storyboard Progression

I recently almost got stuck with deciding whether to stick to a certain story because when I was thinking about how I was going to pitch this to people, it wouldn't sound very catchy, so I decided to pick out a couple more episodes, storyboard each of them and present them to people to help me decide better. The three episodes I've picked are...

"THE CAMBRIDGE CROP CIRCLES"
This was the episode I was going to do because I reckoned it would make the perfect pilot. Good and funny plot, a bit of a relationship entangle between the two agents, but more importantly it's got aliens involved. But I feared people would be turned off by the agents going to England and looking at a bunch of crop circles without hinting any part of the story worth watching. Plus if this were the episode picked, I'd have to do a lot of audio editing work due to its fidelity issues and errors with the script.

"THE TIME CRACK"
I actually started storyboarding this episode out a long while ago, but may have stopped because of my university studies. Slightly better to pitch, and may even have a bit more of a tenser setting. Can't even think of a bad excuse to hand the green light to this story except this one's also set in England. DAMMIT!!!

"SMOULDER'S INTELLIGENCE"
Finally, back in Washington DC! And again, I thought this could be okay as a pilot, but there was this awkward soapy-type epiphany Sulky has in one episode which would have spoilt a surprise too early for the audience. But still, this episode's pretty much the funniest out of the three.

I've stopped with storyboarding with flash and gone back to pencil drawings so I can mess around with switching between different ideas for certain shots, and I can always scan them when I've finished and import into Flash. I've set a deadline for myself to complete all the storyboards by the 4th of September so that it gives me one day to plot out each episode. On I continue...

Here We Go!

I've only just started storyboarding and I've already fallen into the ice with trying to pick the best images to use against the audio.

The first scene is set in Donut Sulky's apartment in the middle of the night and a phone call interrupts her sleep. At first I thought of a side view of sulky sleeping like so...

But I've also been wondering if instead of that shot, it would be better to use a ceiling shot...

...or a close-up angled shot......or maybe it would be better if I just used the first idea but move the camera in towards the character more so it...
That should do it. That's frame one out the way, on to frame two!

Square One

I figure I've waited long enough, so I'll give it a shot to see if I can pull off a decent animation.

I decided to animate what I did when I started cartooning. At the time I was around 12 when I heard about a radio show called "The X Fools" syndicated across the UK. As you probably would have guessed, it was a spoof of the The X Files. Federal agents Fat Smoulder and Donut Sulky of the Federal Bureau of Odd Stuff investigating unexplained phenomenon under the supervision of Assistant Director Skinhead. Have a listen to some if you like.

Back when I first heard about the show, I used to transcribe episodes of the show into comic strip form. Though my drawings weren't that great at first, it still got me to where I am. When I get the opportunity to find my old strips, I'll scan some pics to show you. That's why I thought of animating an episode out. If all goes well, who knows.

I've been through a bunch of stories that I found online, and needed to pick an episode out carefully so that it could be used as a pilot if necessary. The story I've chosen is plain, simply, funny and has aliens, which aughta do I thought. So far I've been lining up the audio ready to begin the storyboards, but I may have some difficulty in organising my time because I'm stuck in the middle of repainting my room.
